* * Tanya Tucker, “Can’t Run From Yourself,” Liberty. With a voice that tears like a rusty saw blade, Tucker has been, and remains, most effective on rowdy honky-tonk numbers--love songs here veer too often into melodrama or bombast. One exception is the tastefully restrained ballad “Half the Moon.” Her bouncy, R&B-tinged; duet with Delbert McClinton, “Tell Me About It,” is the standout.

Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
