* * 1/2 The Sundays, “Blind,” Geffen. Following up an arrestingly distinct 1990 debut, guitarist David Gavurin gamely tries to find new settings for Harriet Wheeler’s magnetically pure voice, but it’s hit-and-miss. Best are “Life & Soul” (so light it almost evaporates) and a surprisingly successful folk-pop version of the Stones’ “Wild Horses.”
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
