Kentucky Tops Poll; Duke No. 3
The Kentucky Wildcats took over the No. 1 spot in the Associated Press college basketball poll Monday, replacing Duke, which was No. 1 for most of the past two seasons.
Kentucky (11-0) received 50 first-place votes and 1,608 points from the nationwide panel of writers and broadcasters. No. 2 Michigan (12-1) was No. 1 on 14 ballots and had 1,545 points.
Duke (10-1), which held the No. 1 spot every week last season and in all but the preseason and two early weeks this season, received one first-place vote and 1,496 points, dropping to third.
