News Posts: In some musical chairs at NBC News, Steve Friedman is leaving as executive producer of “NBC Nightly News With Tom Brokaw” and “Dateline” to become executive producer of a new NBC prime-time news magazine. The magazine is expected to premiere later this year. Jeff Zucker, executive producer of the “Today” show, will take on the added duties of executive producing “Nightly News.” In an interview, Zucker minimized the difficulties of producing both programs, saying, “It’s not going to be easy, but one advantage is that there is an overlap” between the news of the day and night. Jeffrey Gaspin, vice president of development for NBC News, was named the division’s vice president of prime-time programming and development.
