Cerritos : City’s Dial-A-Ride Program Adds Van for Weekday Trips
The city has added a second van for its Dial-A-Ride program that provides transportation for seniors and disabled residents.
The new van, which carries one person in a wheelchair and five other riders, operates from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. The original van, which holds 10 riders including one in a wheelchair, continues to operate weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. The vans serve 50 people a week, primarily on weekdays.
Services are available by calling 310 402-RIDE. The fee is 80 cents each way, and a trip may be scheduled up to 24 hours in advance. Same-day requests are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Vans operate within the city and also take riders to hospitals in nearby communities. Information: 310 860-0311, Ext. 213.
