Pop Album Chart : Brooks & Dunn--Top 10 At Last

Share

Some critics haven’t been able to figure the massive appeal of Brooks & Dunn’s countrified honky-tonk music, but no matter--the vocal duo’s first album, “Brand New Man,” just keeps on selling. After 59 weeks, this 2-million-seller climbs into the Top 10 for the first time. Its previous high was No. 11. The duo’s label, Arista Records, says the group’s next album, due out next month, will be released as scheduled, even though this one is still selling. On the pop singles chart, Whitney Houston’s ballad, “I Will Always Love You,” is still No. 1--as is the “Bodyguard” soundtrack album that spawned it.

* Country singer’s Alan Jackson’s album is surging, after more than four months on the chart, bounding from No. 30 to No. 20, surpassing its previous peak--No. 22.
