SOUTH PASADENA : Outgoing Official Won’t Rule on Freeway Project
The outgoing head of the Federal Highway Administration announced that he will make no decision on extension of the Long Beach Freeway before he leaves office next week.
Thomas D. Larson said Thursday that concerns raised by the federal Advisory Council on Historic Preservation blocked him from making a decision on the freeway project before Wednesday. He said the council will submit the controversy to federal mediation used for resolving environmental disagreements.
