LOS ANGELES : RTD Offers Semimonthly Bus Pass on Trial Basis
Starting Monday, transit officials will offer a semimonthly bus pass for $23, officials announced this week.
The semimonthly pass was created after low-income passengers told the transit board that the $42 payment for the monthly bus-rail pass poses a hardship.
The semimonthly passes, available on a six-month trial basis, will be good from the first to the 15th of the month, or the 16th to the month’s end. No express or zone stamps will be allowed on a semimonthly pass.
At the end of the six-month trial, transit officials will hold a public hearing to decide if the semimonthly pass should become a permanent feature.
