Clippers Still Have a Long Way to Go
Congratulations to the Clippers on another well-played victory over their cross-town rivals. But please, Clipper fans, no more of these absurd comparisons to the Lakers. Not until you at least reach the NBA finals a few times, and then, only after you’ve won three or four titles should you even think about such things.
Look at all the times that the Angels swept the Dodgers in the Freeway Series over the years. No one would seriously think of comparing them.
Since the 1970-71 season (the year the Clippers were born as the Buffalo Braves), the Lakers have made it to the NBA finals 11 times, winning it six of those times. And the Clippers? Even the Angels have at least won their division a few times.
