Police Car Hits, Injures Pedestrian

SANTA ANA — A police car accidentally struck and injured a pedestrian in Santa Ana on Friday night, the Police Department reported.
Jose A. Quiroz, 30, was reported in stable condition at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, police said.
Police said Quiroz was wearing dark clothing and was not in the crosswalk as crossed in the 2000 block of South Fairview Street.
The accident occurred at 7:28 p.m. The police car, whose driver was not identified, was going north, Sgt. Roger Scharf said.
The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation, Scharf added.
