Alabama Birmingham’s 14-0 Run Too Much for CS Northridge

Stanley Jackson scored 22 points Monday night to lead Alabama Birmingham to a 75-63 victory over Cal State Northridge.

Alabama Birmingham (12-8) used a 14-0 run in the second half, sparked by Robert Shannon, to extend a 41-40 lead to 55-40 and take control of the game.

A dunk by Shannon, who scored eight points during the critical run, gave the Blazers their biggest lead, 70-52, with 2:27 to play.

Alabama Birmingham led early, 5-1, but Northridge (7-10) outscored the Blazers, 10-0, to take an 11-5 lead and stretched that to 15-8 with 12:42 remaining in the half.

Alabama Birmingham, which led at halftime, 32-31, got 13 points from Reginald Allen, 11 each from Shannon and Carter Long and 10 from Frank Haywood.

Chris Yard scored 19 points for Northridge, which got 13 each from Andre Chevalier and Brooklyn McLinn and 11 from Peter Micelli.
