Another Side to Garden Issue

In response to Keith A. Dodson’s poem (Times, Jan. 24):

ORGANIC GARDENERS

They’ve mooched off the State for twenty-one years,

Never paid rental fees or water bills.

Cal State’s been generous, allowing gardeners to grow

Veggies and flowers to lessen the load.

Alas, but alack, the hour’s at hand

To march to the drummer of Progress’s band.

As state budgets shrink, and Wilson says, “No!”

Alack, but alas, the garden must go!
