Parkland or University?

Soka’s joint-use proposal to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has been rejected as well it should be.

With dwindling funds and rising costs of land, our government agencies have lost prime park property to developers. The area was targeted as headquarters for the Santa Monica National Recreation area to serve all citizens, not a semi-private, semi-restricted park on Soka property.

The main beneficiaries would be their proposed student body and the neighbors aware of their existence.

It is unfortunate that private and foreign entities have more money to spend than our federal park agencies have when it comes to obtaining property.
