A woman was killed and three other people were injured Sunday afternoon when a car collided with a pickup truck driven by a suspected drunk driver on Laguna Canyon Road.

Witnesses said the driver of the southbound truck, Enrique Cisneros, 20, was weaving into northbound lanes shortly before 3:30 p.m. He missed two other cars before colliding with a Chevrolet Blazer that had attempted to avoid him by swerving onto a dirt shoulder, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

A passenger riding in the front seat of the Blazer died at the scene. The driver, Norma Valdez, 41, of Santa Ana, was airlifted to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where she was listed in critical condition, and a second passenger was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with unspecified injuries.

Cisneros, a resident of Santa Ana, was also airlifted to Mission Hospital with unspecified injuries. He was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of felony drunk driving, the CHP said. The accident occurred about one mile south of the San Diego Freeway and forced the closure of Laguna Canyon Road for several hours in both directions, from the freeway to El Toro Road.
