Balboa Park Will Receive First Trout

Balboa Park Lake, the San Fernando Valley’s newest recreational reservoir, is scheduled to receive its first load of rainbow trout this week, courtesy of the California Department of Fish and Game.
Meanwhile, a 20-mile long portion of the Eastern Sierra’s Owens River and nearby Pleasant Valley Reservoir--both open year-round for fishing--last week got 350 trout averaging 5 1/2 pounds and 750 more averaging 2 3/4 pounds.
