Detroit fans cheered the arrival of Paul Coffey, and he gave them even more to shout about.

Coffey, traded by the Kings to the Red Wings last week, had a goal and two assists in his first game at Detroit with his new team, leading a 5-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

“The first time I came on the ice, I thought they had put a Piston score on the board,” Coffey said of the ovation he received from the fans. “Detroit has great fans, and getting that kind of reaction gave me goose bumps.”
