Clinton to Meet With Japan Foreign Minister

WASHINGTON —
President Clinton will meet with Japanese Foreign Minister Michio Watanabe on Thursday in his highest-level contact with the Japanese government since taking office, the White House said Tuesday.
White House spokesman George Stephanopoulos said Clinton and Watanabe will have a “general discussion about U.S.-Japan relations.” Another official said it will simply be a get-acquainted session.
