500 Accept Buyout at ABC: Capital Cities-ABC Inc. said about 500 employees at its ABC Television Network accepted the company’s offer of severance incentives to trim its work force. The offer was made in December to the network’s 3,000 non-contract employees. The network employs another 2,000 employees who are covered by contracts and were not eligible for the buyout. The incentive package included two weeks’ pay for each year of service and two weeks’ pay for each $10,000 in current salary as well as other benefits.
