Sierra Madre : Cause of Death Determined
An unidentified woman whose nearly naked body was found on a street last Sunday died of compression of the neck, a coroner’s autopsy revealed.
The woman is between the ages of 18 and 20 and remains unidentified. She was found at 7:40 p.m. by a passerby who spotted her body in the street on Oak Meadow Road, a cul-de-sac north of Orange Grove Avenue. Sierra Madre Police Chief Bill Betts said he thinks that the woman was killed elsewhere and her body dumped in Sierra Madre.
The woman was clad only in a black bra, Betts said. Her throat had been slashed, a coroner’s spokesman said. Sheriff’s detectives are investigating.
