Rock the Vote: The big winner in Rolling Stone magazine’s annual reader’s poll, which hits newsstands this week: U2. The group won artist of the year, best band, best album for “Achtung Baby,” best tour for Zoo TV and lead singer Bono was named best male singer, sexiest male singer and best songwriter. But the magazine’s critics voted differently in their poll. They did name U2’s Zoo TV best tour, and the band tied with R.E.M. for best band. But best singer went to Michael Stipe, and artist of the year went to the rap group Arrested Development.
