SEAL BEACH : Resurfacing Finished on Seal Beach Blvd.

Driving down Seal Beach Boulevard is a little bit smoother these days, thanks to a road improvement project completed this month.
A three-quarter-mile portion of the road from Bolsa Avenue to the Seal Beach police station was resurfaced with more than 4,000 tons of asphalt. Workers also re-striped the street, added new reflective markers and adjusted several manhole covers and gas valves, said Greg Lindsay of Seal Beach’s engineering department.
The nearly $170,000 project was paid for largely with state and county funds.
Originally, officials hoped to also resurface a second portion of Seal Beach Boulevard between Bolsa Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. But because of budget cuts, those improvements were put on hold.
Lindsay said the city will proceed with the work as soon as officials can secure the necessary funds.
Seal Beach Boulevard is a major north-south road that links the San Diego Freeway and Leisure World with central Seal Beach.
