Share

Banks in Thousand Oaks and Ventura were robbed Tuesday afternoon.

A robber who presented a demand note to a teller at a Bank of A. Levy in the 3800 block of East Thousand Oaks Boulevard made off with $1,200 in cash, said Sgt. Dan Coons of the Sheriff’s Department, which polices Thousand Oaks.

No injuries were reported, and it is unclear whether the suspect was armed, Coons said. The robbery occurred about 1:25 p.m.

Forty-five minutes later, a robber walked in the back door of Wells Fargo Bank, 101 S. Chestnut St., Ventura, with a demand note and walked out with a pile of cash, said Lt. Mike Tracey of the Ventura Police Department. Again, authorities said it is unclear whether the suspect, who poked a gun-shaped object through his jacket, was armed. The amount stolen was not released.
