Earthy Angels: A tiny Pacific island that derives enormous cash reserves from guano--bird droppings harvested as fertilizer--is backing a musical to be staged in London’s West End, according to the London Daily Telegraph. The island of Nauru is putting up $2.86 million to put on “Leonardo, Portrait of Love” in June. The story about a supposed love affair between Leonardo da Vinci and Mona Lisa was co-written and produced by Liverpool entrepreneur Duke Minks, who advises the 8,000 Nauru islanders on investments. “(The story) made the Naurans cry. They absolutely loved it,” Minks told the Telegraph.
