The League of Women Voters of Los Angeles is hosting a luncheon forum on the subject of term limits. Mark Petracca, an associate professor of political science at UC Irvine, will speak in favor of term limits and Los Angeles Councilwoman Joy Picus will speak in opposition. A measure limiting terms for council members and the mayor will appear on the April 20 ballot. The lunch is scheduled for noon Thursday at Sportsmen’s Lodge, 12833 Ventura Blvd., Studio City. The Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley will hold a forum on fair trade and the local economy from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 28 at the International Assn. of Machinists Lodge, 2600 W. Victory Blvd., Burbank. Scheduled speakers include U.S. Rep. Howard L. Berman (D-Panorama City) and Assemblyman Richard Katz (D-Panorama City). Admission is free.
