Altadena : Filing for Council Seats

Share

Applications for 1993 Town Council seats will be accepted between March 8 and April 8, election committee Chairman Robert Powe announced Tuesday.

Candidates must be 18 or over, U.S. citizens and live in the areas they wish to represent. Altadena is divided into seven census tracts. Two council members from each tract serve for staggered two-year terms; one is elected by popular vote every year. Candidates with the largest number of votes in their census tract win, and runners-up become alternates for one year.

The Town Council is a volunteer advisory body that meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Altadena Library.
