NORTH HOLLYWOOD : Contract to Design Superior Court OKd
A nearly $1-million building contract was approved Tuesday by Los Angeles County supervisors for design of the North Hollywood Superior Court.
The 15-courtroom structure at the southeast corner of Lankershim and Burbank boulevards is expected to cost nearly $65 million to build, and will be paid for through a state court construction fund that is financed by sale of certificates of participation.
The firm of Widom Wein Cohen was hired as the architect/engineer for the facility, at a maximum fee of $973,000.
The courthouse also will include 22 chambers, seven mediation or hearing rooms and a parking structure for more than 600 cars. Under a state mandate, construction must begin by April, 1994.
