Lake Casitas Benefits From the Rising Tide
While other Southland lakes continued to suffer with muddy water from the storms, it was time to celebrate at Lake Casitas, north of Ventura. Water spilled for the first time in 10 years early Tuesday, topping the dam by four inches.
“We’re a little excited about it,” said Randy King, marina manager. “It’s made our lives easier. We don’t have to walk a mile to the dock anymore, (and) the launch ramp’s right here. We can even watch guys launch their cars.”
The lake also continued to produce big largemouth bass. Jim Mason of Oakview caught three weighing seven, eight and 10 pounds.
