A man armed with a revolver abducted two women near Mile Square Regional Park and drove them to Huntington Beach, where he sexually assaulted them at gunpoint, police said Wednesday.

The women, ages 19 and 20, were accosted about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Edinger Avenue, Detective Jim Perry said. According to authorities, the man tried to rob the victims as they were leaving work.

When the women said they did not have any money, he forced them into his car. Authorities described the vehicle as a faded-red, two-door 1963 Chevrolet Impala with a white stripe on the sides.

Police said the attacker drove the women north on the San Diego Freeway and into an abandoned area near Springdale Street and Bolsa Avenue in Huntington Beach. There, police said, he forced them to masturbate and perform oral sex with him in his car.

During the attack, the man reportedly struck the 19-year-old with his revolver and took the victims’ jewelry before ordering them out of his car. Both women were later treated for cuts and bruises from the attack, according to authorities.

Investigators described the attacker as a Latino in his 30s, who is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue, hooded sweat shirt.
