LIFESAVER: Aftereffects of the World Trade Center bombing are being felt in Irvine, where XCaper Corp. is doubling efforts to put its anti-smoke mask onto the consumer market by summer. . . . XCaper, which supplies a military version to the Navy, says the mask would allow people in smoke-filled high-rise buildings at least 15 minutes to escape without lung damage. . . . The firm is also donating 2,000 masks to security departments in major New York and Chicago high-rises.
