Claremont to Open New Fire Station
Claremont city and county officials will join in ceremonies to open a new fire station at Mills Avenue and Pomello Drive at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Mayor Diann Ring, county Supervisor Mike Antonovich and Fire Chief Michael Freeman will speak at the dedication.
The new station, which cost $707,610 to build, replaces a nearby station that was built in 1932 and is being closed because it is not earthquake-safe.
