Share

Scott Richardson set an individual record, and Saddleback set a team mark as the Gauchos won the San Diego Golf Academy Invitational Friday at Whispering Palms Country Club in San Diego.

Richardson, a freshman from Dana Hills High, shot a five-under 66, which is a single-round record for a Saddleback player. He broke the mark of 68 shot by John Wardrup in 1988.

Saddleback’s total of 352 was the lowest team total for the Gauchos. It broke the mark of 361 by the 1984 team at San Dimas Country Club.
