SUPER STORES: They’re at least four times the size of the average bookstore and offer a wider array of titles, many at discount. Super stores such as Bookstar in Tustin and Brea and Super Crown in Laguna Niguel and Irvine are the latest in bookselling. Orange County’s newest are the Barnes & Noble super bookstores in Costa Mesa’s Triangle Square and Newport’s Fashion Island. . . . Says Jim Wilmer, manager of the 12,000-square-foot Costa Mesa store: “Customers like to go to one place offering a large selection.”
