COLLEGE BASKETBALL / NCAA TOURNAMENT: THE FIRST ROUND : Seton Hall Clears First Hurdle With Little Trouble, as Usual
Seton Hall is no Arizona.
The Pirates, who have never lost in five first-round games in the NCAA tournament, rolled past Tennessee State, 81-59, as Terry Dehere scored 19 points Thursday night in the Southeast Regional.
“I don’t ever want us to be complacent enough or spoiled enough that when we get to the NCAA tournament, we act blase about it, act like that’s what we’re supposed to do,” Seton Hall Coach P.J. Carlesimo said.
The Pirates (28-6) plays Western Kentucky in the second round Saturday.
Said Coach Frankie Allen of Tennessee State (19-10): “I hope they go far, because I picked them in the office pool.”
