THOUSAND OAKS : Officers Subdue Brawl Outside Club

Share

A brawl in which youths hurled beer bottles at deputies outside a popular Thousand Oaks nightclub was quickly subdued early Friday morning by officers from three law enforcement agencies, authorities said.

About 40 people were involved in the fight outside Sergio’s Cantina at 3835 Thousand Oaks Blvd. at 1:20 a.m, and another 160 were milling outside the club, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.

Sheriff’s deputies called for assistance and several California Highway Patrol officers and deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded, Sgt. Keith Parks said. Several members of the crowd fled to an auto dealership mall across the street as the additional officers arrived, Parks said.

No arrests were made, authorities said. The night club attracts teen-agers on Thursdays when it opens to those 18 and older, Parks said.

No weapons were found, authorities said. Parks said there were two similar incidents at the nightclub in the last year.
