NIT ROUNDUP : Connecticut Falls to Jackson State
Lindsey Hunter scored nine of his team’s 10 points in overtime to lead Jackson State over Connecticut, 90-88, Friday night at Storrs, Conn.
Hunter finished with 39 points to lead Jackson State (25-8). It was the most points scored by one player against Connecticut in Jim Calhoun’s seven years as coach.
The Huskies (15-12) had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but David Simmons broke up a pass as time ran out.
Texas El Paso 67, Houston 61--Johnny Melvin scored 21 points to help the Miners (21-12) beat the Cougars (21-9) at El Paso. Charles Outlaw had 15 points for Houston.
