Astros to Reassign Former Titan Nevin
Former Cal State Fullerton third baseman Phil Nevin will start the season in the Houston Astros’ minor league system.
Nevin, the 1992 college baseball player of the year, was designated for reassignment Thursday. Nevin played in 14 spring training games with the Astros, hitting .345 with two doubles, two triples, a homer and five runs batted in.
The Astros made Nevin the top pick in last June’s draft.
