Ecological Treasure Hunt Winners Named
Winners of the Ecological Treasure Hunt competition, held in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Eco Fair at the Arboretum in Arcadia, have been announced.
Garey High School of Pomona placed second, followed by Arcadia High School, Charter Oak High School in Covina and Baldwin Park High School. Venice High School won the event.
The competition involved student teams going through the Arboretum grounds and finding four eco stops using a compass bearing, distance in meters and a written clue.
At each eco stop, teams answered questions involving general ecology, natural science and environmental concerns. They were scored on the correctness of their answers and the speed in which they completed the course.
