Ladd’s Glad: On-air personalities at KTWV-FM (“The Wave”--94.7) received quite a surprise Friday morning during their 28-hour radiothon benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles. The item they were auctioning off was 100 boxes housing the record library and memorabilia from the station’s previous incarnation--KMET (rock station KMET changed to the KTWV’s “New Age” format in 1987). The buyer for the KMET library and memorabilia was classic rock station, KLSX-FM (97.1). The station bid $19,500 and made the purchase in the name of Jim Ladd, a current KLSX and former KMET disc jockey.
