SIMI VALLEY : Traffic Controls for Freeway Approved
- Share via
Metering devices and car-pool lanes will be installed on Simi Valley Freeway on-ramps in Ventura County under a $1.6-million project approved recently by the California Transportation Commission.
The traffic-control measures will be placed on California 118 on-ramps in both directions along 7.7 miles between Madera Road and Kuehner Drive in Simi Valley.
The ramp meters regulate the pace at which vehicles can merge onto the freeway. Vehicles carrying two or more people can use a ramp’s car-pool lane and disregard the meter lights.
Construction will begin in August and should be completed by February, 1994, Caltrans officials said.
