Having ‘Faith’ in No. 1

Share

With its first album in three years, “Songs of Faith and Devotion,” Depeche Mode knocked “The Bodyguard” soundtrack from its place atop The Times’ Southern California pop album chart. Sting’s “Ten Summoner’s Tales” slipped two notches to No. 4, while Sade’s “Love Deluxe” made a resurgence back into the Top 10. After many weeks in the shadow of Dr. Dre and Paperboy, Snow’s “Informer” finally climbed to the top spot on the singles chart. Ice-T’s “Home Invasion” entered the rap album chart strongly at No. 2, but couldn’t shake Dr. Dre from his No. 1 position.
