A Burbank man was in stable condition Sunday after being wounded in an apparent gang-related shooting on the Golden State Freeway, Burbank police said.
Jose Rodriguez, 18, was shot in the back when three young men drove up next to his car near the Buena Vista Street exit and one opened fire about 2:40 a.m., said Burbank Police Sgt. David Gabriel.
Rodriguez, who was driving south with several companions, immediately pulled over, police said. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, Gabriel said.
Officers would not say if Rodriguez was a gang member but said his attackers were believed to be in a gang.
No arrests have been made. Police have not released a description of the assailants’ car.
