SANTA PAULA : Board Allots Funds to Remove Rockslide
- Share via
Ventura County will postpone several road projects to come up with $300,000 needed to clear a massive rockslide from a county road near Santa Paula, supervisors decided Tuesday.
Voting unanimously, supervisors decided that the county must act quickly to remove debris that tumbled onto South Mountain Road April 3. They agreed to put off installing a traffic signal at Vineyard Avenue and Walnut Drive near Oxnard, and repairing curbs, gutters and sidewalks throughout the county.
County Public Works Director Art Goulet said crews will begin removing the debris within a few days. The road is expected to be clear within six weeks.
