OXNARD : College Forum Will Honor Cesar Chavez
The faculty of Oxnard College is sponsoring a noon forum at the school today to commemorate Cesar Chavez, the late farm labor leader who began his organizing career in Oxnard.
Talks by history professor Tomas Salinas and psychology professor Linda Chaparro will address the significance of Chavez’s work, including the creation of the United Farm Workers.
The forum, which is open to the public, will be held at noon outdoors on the cafeteria lawn. For more information, call 986-5800, Ext. 1911 or 1919.
