REAL GRADES: You’ve heard of high schools holding mock trials; how about real trials? Municipal Court in Laguna Niguel will hold actual small claims and traffic trials two days each in front of civics classes at Capistrano Valley, Mission Viejo and Dana Hills high schools. . . . Mission Viejo Principal Bob Metz got it going last year. “It was a great eye-opener,” Metz says. One benefit he sees: “We think it will make some students think a little more about their own driving.”
