Capistrano Valley’s Seiffert Picks USC

Eric Seiffert, a 6-foot-6 middle blocker from Capistrano Valley, signed a letter of intent with USC, Capistrano Valley boys’ volleyball Coach Ken Goldstone said Monday.

Seiffert, an All-South Coast League selection and Junior National team member last season, chose USC over BYU, Pepperdine and Hawaii.

Capistrano Valley (14-0) is the top-ranked team in Orange County and Southern Section Division I.

Laguna Beach setter David Berney, who was a Times’ second-team all-county selection last season, has narrowed his choices to USC and Penn State.
