After a weeklong investigation into drug sales at a Santa Paula apartment complex, authorities on Tuesday arrested three men and seized five ounces of cocaine worth an estimated $28,000 on the street.

The arrests came after narcotics detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and Santa Paula Police Department saw Manuel Ramirez Hernandez, 61, of Santa Paula and Alfonso Lopez Diaz, 30, of Oxnard allegedly selling drugs in a parking lot next to the apartment building at Fourth and Santa Barbara streets about 10 p.m.

A third man, Ruben Jaimes Jaimes, 42, of Sun Valley, was also in the parking lot but fled the scene when officers moved in. He was stopped in his car on the Santa Paula Freeway at 10th Street and taken into custody without incident, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
