Meredith’s Two-Hitter Gives SCC a Split

Ted Wieczorek hit a home run--his eighth of the season--in the fourth and Ryan Meredith pitched a two-hitter to lead Southern California College to a 1-0 victory over Point Loma Nazarene in the first game of a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader Thursday at SCC.

SCC (28-22, 11-9) lost the second game, 5-0, after Point Loma (32-18, 10-10) scored five runs in the 10th inning. But the Vanguards did clinch at least a tie for second in the conference.

Meredith (11-3) struck out 10 and walked five in the complete-game victory.
