Pyros Mania

Porno for Pyros, the new rock band headed by former Jane’s Addiction leader Perry Farrell, is off to a blazing start with its self-titled debut album opening on top of The Times’ Southern California pop chart. Apparently a lot of old Addiction addicts want to hear what Farrell is up to now. But after the curiosity seekers are satisfied in the first few weeks, the PFP album will have to stand on its own. Aerosmith, swimming upstream against the tides that are sinking mainstream rock, sank from No. 1 to No. 7 with its “Get a Grip” and may have trouble staying afloat.
