Cuts in Pay for County Workers
I read in the newspaper where a committee of Ventura County civil servants refused to accept a proposed 5% cut in salary and benefits due to revenue shortfall; calling the proposal a crime and unfair. What a crock.
My attitude is that if civil servants are unwilling to accept their share of sacrifice, why should my family or anyone else? The committee’s ruling tells me that there is no value in sacrifice, and to do so is stupid. In the words of my teen-age son, “I’m outta here.”
