Husband Held in Wife’s Killing During Quarrel
A 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of fatally shooting his wife during a quarrel, authorities said.
Orange County sheriff’s investigators found the 34-year-old woman dead at the couple’s residence on Desert Thorn Street about 3:40 a.m. Saturday. She was identified as Mariquita F. Torio.
The husband, Celerino M. Torio, was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene without incident, authorities said.
Authorities refused to release further details.
One neighbor, who declined to give her name, said that the victim “was a very nice lady” who sold Avon products to her friends and worked at a local convenience store. The couple had two young children, the neighbor said.
